Kohama Island Mangrove Tour

We used this service for a family trip, and the kids had a blast. Since the kayaking tour is open to children ages 3 and up, the guide kindly adapted to the kids’ pace and provided gentle support, which allowed us as parents to watch over them with peace of mind. The kids’ eyes sparkled the whole time as they marveled at the mysterious ecosystem of the mangroves, and we created so many wonderful family memories.

First, we headed to the mangrove forest on Kohama Island, hopped into kayaks, and paddled leisurely across the calm water. Next, following our guide’s detailed instructions, we took our time observing the rare plants and wildlife unique to the subtropics. Finally, surrounded by the expansive scenery unique to high tide, we took a deep breath and were able to fully immerse ourselves in nature, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

It was the perfect choice. You can take a day trip from Kohama Island to see the mangroves on Iriomote Island, and kayaking is so much fun—Taipa is the best. The power of nature is incredible; I have absolutely no complaints.

The mangrove tour was seriously awesome lol. Paddling through the jungle in a kayak felt like a real adventure—I was so hyped! Just as advertised, it’s safe enough for kids as young as 3, and I had the time of my life taking tons of photos with my friends out in the great outdoors lol. If you’re going to Kohama Island, you absolutely have to do this lol.

Since I tried some ocean activities last time, this time I decided to go on the kayak tour through the mangrove forest again. As always, the guide provided thorough explanations, and I was able to fully enjoy the unique natural scenery typical of a subtropical environment. No matter how many times I visit Kohama Island, I always discover something new, and I had a wonderful time that didn’t disappoint. I’d love to do it again.

The SUP experience was absolutely amazing!! The views of the ocean and the mangroves were incredibly beautiful—it totally got me hyped up!!! Even as a beginner, the guide was super patient and taught me how to paddle, so I was up and riding in no time. Plus, I got tons of free photos—I’m seriously so satisfied!! ★ If you come to Kohama Island, you absolutely have to try this!!! It was so much fun!!
