Kohama Island Mangrove Tour

The mangrove kayaking tour—which is only available at high tide—was a truly special experience and I loved it! I was so happy that I could participate with my 3-year-old child, and it became a wonderful memory of our family enjoying nature together.

But thanks to the instructor, who chose a spot with calm waves and gave me precise guidance, I was able to find my balance right away and glide along smoothly! The exhilarating feeling of viewing the mangroves—a part of nature’s grandeur—from the water is truly special. The digital photos I received as a gift have become a treasured keepsake.

Although it was just a day trip from Kohama Island, there was no hassle with transportation, and the kids were thrilled by the great outdoors of Iriomote Island from start to finish. The time we spent kayaking together as a family, moving in unison through the mangroves, became a priceless treasure for our family. We were also delighted that the guide was so kind to the children and taught them about how nature works. We definitely want to join this tour again as a family.

Since there were few places offering shade, I felt it was important for everyone to take proper sun protection measures, such as wearing a hat. The tour was worth the price.
