Tours are held according to the time of high tide, so depending on the day, you can experience kayaking in the fresh air at sunrise or at dusk while peering at the beautiful sky.

Pick-up and drop-off services are also available. Please let us know your pick-up and drop-off addresses when you make your reservation.

In case of meeting directly by car
Direct meeting by rental car or other vehicles is also acceptable. The office is right in front of Obama Port.

If you are coming from another island
We will pick you up at Obama Port. We will inform you of the meeting time when you make a reservation. Also, please let us know where you would like us to send you after the tour (your accommodation on Kohama Island).

If you are coming from outside of Kohama Island, please use the ferry.

Q. What is the difference between the two?Will my clothes get wet?

When rowing, basically your upper body (especially your arms) will get wet. When there is wind, it is useful to have a windbreaker or something similar.

Q. Will it not tip over?

If you fall over too far, you will capsize. However, most of the kayaks we use are stable vessels, so there is no need to worry.We also wear life jackets for your safety.

Most of our clients are new or beginners. We will give you a lecture, so you do not need to worry. We also use two-person kayaks, so you can enjoy yourself without worries.

Basically, we will have you dressed and ready to go by pick-up time. We will take you back to your accommodation.

Q. Can I participate during pregnancy?

You may participate. However, you must be in stable health.
Please also note that there is no solid medical system on remote islands, and while insurance coverage is available for normal injuries, it does not apply to events related to your pregnancy.

The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed kayaking slowly through the lush mangrove forests. The instructors were kind and helpful, so we didn't have to worry about operating the kayaks. The children and I learned a lot of interesting things about mangroves.

Unfortunately, we kayaked in the rain, but that was a good memory! It's not easy to take the course you want, but it was a lot of fun! The guide told us about the island, carefully explained how to paddle the kayak, talked about the mangroves, and even lent us a kappa to use until we got from the hotel to the ocean. We probably would not have gotten so wet if it had been sunny, but it was raining and even though we were wearing a kappa, we got well wet. I would like to join the tour on a sunny day next time!

I enjoyed being able to observe the mangrove forest and marine ecosystem up close and personal while quietly making my way through nature, and being able to interact with many creatures such as birds and fish. 🫶🏾 It was also a good refresher vacation because I could relax and feel nature in a quiet environment 🥹.

We had no knowledge at all about mangroves, but Mr. Hachiman's story made us interested in them at once. I was the only one on the tour, and it was the only time of the year when there were few visitors. The guide was very friendly and gave us an easy-to-understand lecture on how to paddle the canoe. We used this tour at the end of the year with our family of four (myself, my wife, and daughters ages 7 and 5). The guide lady was very pleasant and easy to talk to and gave us a tour with our two children! The kids were so excited to collect shells stuck to the trees! It was my first time canoeing, but I was able to fully enjoy it without any worries! We learned a lot of information about the mangroves and Kohama Island. Because only the buttocks get wet (not absolutely), I think it would be good to consider if you have plans afterwards. I was able to enjoy with no worries at all with my family!
