Kohama Island - Hosozaki Coast

◆Rental bicycles are convenient for getting around Kohama Island!
What is Hosozaki Coast?
Kubazaki Beach is a beach spot on Kohama Island at the tip of a cape that juts out long and narrow from the western tip of the island.
From the beach, the shadow of Iriomote Island can be seen across the Yonara Channel.
Yonara Channel, also known as "Manta Way," is known for the migration of giant manta rays.
In Kaijin Park next to the beach, there is an observatory whose roof is in the shape of a manta ray.
Because it is not a well-known tourist destination, there are still few tourists and you can feel a sense of life that is typical of the remote islands.
The road to Hosozaki is quite long and has steep ups and downs, so if you are biking, be sure to leave plenty of time for your trip.
How to play at Hosozaki Beach
Hosozaki Beach is also famous as a spot for activities such as SUP.
SUP cruising with a view of Iriomote Island is common, but SUP at sunset is especially recommended.
Enjoy the time when the entire sky is tinted in madder red from the sea.
