Kohama Island - Ishinagata Beach

◆Rental bicycles are convenient for getting around Kohama Island!
What is Ishinagata Coast?
The beach is located on the west side of Kohama Island, opposite Kohama Port and south of Akaya-zaki.
On the opposite shore are the peninsulas of Iriomote Island and Kohama Island, and a mangrove forest stretches out below.
This is a spot where you can observe subtropical mangroves, which is rare on Kohama Island. If you enter the spot with the sign "hirugi-rin entrance," you can go down close to the mangrove forest and observe various creatures at low tide.
How to play at Ishinagata Beach
Kayaking and nature exploration tours are popular ways to play in the pristine mangrove forests of Kohama Island.
At night, when the tide is low, locals gather here to catch octopus, crabs, and shellfish.
