What is a knot setting stone?
It is located on the right side of the entrance on the village side of Sugar Road.
It is an important stone for the local islanders, who used to stand a rod in these holes to determine when to plant crops by comparing the angle of the stars with the 12 holes dug on its surface.
Today, it is a beacon for tourists as the junction of two sugar roads.
The area where the Setsusadame-ishi is located has been beautifully maintained and was also designated as a historic site on August 30, 1972.
