What is Kabone Utaki?
The "Yugan Matsuri", the largest festival on Kohama Island, is held at Utaki, the closest village to the center of Kohama Island, to give thanks for a bountiful harvest that year and to pray for a good harvest the following year.
Next to the torii gate, a "Kandura stone" is placed to pray for rain.
It is a sacred place for the islanders, so do not be rude when visiting.
